API is the umbrella organization representing all aspects of America's natural gas and oil industry. Its 600 members produce, distribute and process most of America's energy. This industry is responsible for millions of jobs in the United States and is supported by millions of Americans through a grassroots movement. API was established in 1919 to establish standards. API has created more than 700 standards in the first 100 years to improve operational safety, efficiency, sustainability, and economic performance.
