Gordon Food Service broke the ground on its new 445, 000-square-foot warehouse in Douglasville today. Attending were Harvey Persons the Mayor of Douglasville, Jim Gordon, Chief Executive Officer of Gordon Food Service, and Brian Zylstra, General Manager of the Atlanta Division. Several state and local officials as well as Gordon Food Service staff were present. The distribution center will be operational by the winter of 2015. It is expected to employ 200 people within three years.
People said: "We are excited for this groundbreaking that is the culmination of an effort by the state, the local community and business leaders. These entities have all worked together to bring us here. "We are fortunate to have Gordon Food Service choose our community, as they continue to expand and strive to achieve the goals of providing heartfelt service and uncompromising value for their customers.".
